Donny van de Beek’s agent has accused Manchester United of blocking a Deadline Day transfer away from Old Trafford.

Van de Beek has been used rarely by boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since his £40million arrival from Ajax last summer, making 30 appearances mainly as a substitute.

Van de Beek’s agent is not a happy bunny

He has been linked with a move to Everton today with the Toffees reportedly sounding out a loan move to the United hierarchy.

However, his agent, Guido Albers, has revealed the club have given the red light on any deal – something which has disappointed the Dutchman who simply wants more minutes.

“I prefer not to bring this up [how Van de Beek is feeling],” he told Dutch radio station Voetbal International, “Everyone who knows Donny…. he just wants to play football, he loves football. So from my reaction… I think you can tell.”

Earlier this summer, Netherlands icon Ronald de Boer rubbished rumours Van de Beek asked Ajax to return this summer amid his continued struggles at United.

“I spoke to Ajax and they said there’s no truth in it at all,” the former Barcelona and Rangers midfielder told talkSPORT 2. “He didn’t ask to speak to them.

“He’s just focusing on his recovery on his ankle, and it’s not true that he asked Man United to leave.”
