Borussia Dortmund are reportedly targeting PSV Eindhoven star Donyell Malen as a possible replacement for Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United have been chasing the England international for some time and failed in their attempts to sign him over the summer.

That interest is likely to be renewed next summer but it remains to be seen if Dortmund will budge on their £100million plus price tag.

Sancho’s form has dipped somewhat this season with just two goals and five assists in 13 games.

Soccer News claim Dortmund will look at Malen in the summer should the 20-year-old be sold.

Malen, 21, has been in superb form in the Eredivisie this season with seven goals and four assists in 15 appearances.

The report claims that there is a growing belief in the Netherlands that he could be sold in the summer with a number of clubs expressing an interest.

Leading the race is Dortmund who ‘seem to have the most concrete interest’.

His price tag is said to be €50million, which would be more than affordable should Sancho leave.

Any moves in January appear unlikely with Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted he did not think any more players would be signed.

Amad Diallo has already joined in a £35million deal from Atalanta at the start of the month.

Solskjaer said: “I think the signings we made in the summer strengthened the squad really well.

“Good signings, good characters, good players. January is always difficult but if something comes up you think is a long-term target anyway that’s another scenario.

“But not many teams would like to lose their players in January, so it’s unlikely something will happen on the inside.

“There might be two or three going out because, one, they deserve to play football, for their own good and for their own careers.”
