Newcastle’s bid for Premier League survival is as good as done as they claimed a shock 4-2 win at Leicester.

Goals Joe Willock, Paul Dummett and a brace by Callum Wilson saw the Magpies race to a 4-0 lead while Marc Albrighton and Kelechi Iheanacho gave the scoreline some respect.

It was a fantastic away performance for Newcastle, who will surely be playing in the top flight next season

The result leaves Newcastle 12 points clear of the relegation zone. Mathematically they can still go down, however, they would need to lose all their three matches while 18th-placed Fulham would need to win their remaining four to see that happen.

It also puts a dent in Leicester’s bid to qualify for the Champions League as they gave the likes of Chelsea, West Ham, Tottenham and Liverpool a chance to make ground on them.

The remainder of their run-in doesn’t look great either, with the Foxes facing Manchester United, Chelsea and Spurs in their final three Premier League outings this term.
