Hiring former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was seen as a bold step by Tottenham but one fan would like to see Daniel Levy turn to another ex-Blues boss to fix their current problems.

It was another miserable result for Tottenham on Sunday night as they succumbed to defeat at Brighton, with Leandro Trossard’s first-half strike the difference between the two sides at the Amex Stadium.

Following this result and a defeat to Liverpool earlier in the week, Spurs are six points off the Premier League’s top four.

On top of this bad form they’re without Harry Kane, who sustained an injury to both ankles on Thursday night, for the foreseeable.

Tottenham fans are unsurprisingly worried about where their season’s going and some are running out of patience for Mourinho.

A number of them called talkSPORT to say it’s time for Levy to get rid of the Portuguese, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino in November 2019.

And one Spurs fan would like to see Frank Lampard, who’s viewed by many as Chelsea’s greatest ever player, to succeed Mourinho.

Lampard has been out of work since being sacked by the west London side last week following a bad run of results.

“Watching Spurs compared to this time last season, there’s no difference,” Spurs fan Dan said on Darren Bent’s Boot Room.

“You’ve got no Harry Kane. He’s a big part of the team and you’ve got players in there who Mourinho’s losing his head with like Serge Aurier. He didn’t even play, where was he?

“Dele Alli – he’s like a £70million player… you can’t just get rid of him.

“Mourinho is so stuck in the past. He plays three at the back against Brighton!”

Bent then put it to Dan on who he’d like to see come in for Mourinho.

“Do you know what? At the minute there aren’t too many you can grab, I wouldn’t mind Lampard,” he replied.
