Jack Wilshere is set to relaunch his career with Bournemouth, with the Championship promotion chasers ready to offer the former Arsenal and West Ham midfielder a contract, talkSPORT understands.

Meanwhile, West Ham are also said to be in ‘ongoing negotiations’ over a move for Sebastien Haller’s replacement, following the striker’s departure to Ajax.

Wilshere has been on the hunt for a new club ever since his release from the Hammers last October.

Amid links with a possible switch to Major League Soccer and interest from West Brom, the midfielder has spent the last three weeks training with Bournemouth in a bid to stay fit for his next move.

He’s apparently impressed so much on the training pitch that Cherries boss Jason Tindall told talkSPORT earlier this week that the south coast club were considering offering him a contract.

And according to talkSPORT sources, the Cherries are ready to step up their approach following an injury to one of their first-team stars.

Junior Stanislas has been sidelined with ankle ligament damage and talkSPORT’s man on the south coast, Alex Crook, believes it may lead to Wilshere coming in as his replacement.

“Jack Wilshere’s contract offer at Bournemouth could be a bit closer now,” Crook told talkSPORT host Jim White on Friday.

“Junior Stanislas has been ruled out for the foreseeable future, several weeks i’m told, with ankle ligament damage.

“That might just clear the way for Jack Wilshere to sign for Bournemouth.

“What an exciting arrival that would be for them as they look to win promotion back to the Premier League.”

Wilshere’s former club West Ham are also on a hunt of their own, with the Hammers eyeing a new striker after selling £45million flop Haller earlier this month.

talkSPORT reported on Thursday that Reims striker Boulaye Dia has emerged as a possible target for the London club.

But it appears the Hammers have moved quickly, with claims they are now in talks over a £15m deal for the 24-year-old who has been in great form this season.

“Boulaye Dia at Reims is the man West Ham are looking at to replace Sebastien Haller,” added Crook.

“There has been lots of talk over who can come in, Patson Daka from Red Bull Salzburg has been looked at and we’re spoken about Josh King a lot. But they believe Dia could be their man.

“He has scored 12 goals in 17 league games in Ligue 1 this season, £15million is the fee I’ve heard and negotiations are ongoing.

“I’m told his playing style is similar to Michail Antonio, so the complete opposite in so many ways to Haller and maybe further proof that he was never going to be the type of player David Moyes wanted to build his team around.”
