My Girlfriend left me because I Cheated on her — Burna Boy

Recently in an interview with Onos of Bella Naija, where he revealed that his girlfriend left him because he cheated on her.

Burna revealed to Onos that he is currently too busy to be on the look-out for Miss Right, because “I just dropped an album and will be too busy to have time for that”. The singer also credited his grandfather, Benson Idons, who used to be Fela’s manager, as his greatest influence in music. “That’s definitely the biggest influence on my music. To have that kind of influence, it shows on the album.” Other influences who got a mention are Fela Kuti, Sizzla Kalonji, King Sunny Ade and Bob Marley.

The singer also revealed that besides Burna Boy, he goes by a number of aliases: “I don’t even know where to start. They call me Burna Boy, Burna Versace, Burna Rankin’, Burna Goldie, OluwaBurna, Burna Ibile, Burnanikulapo Kuti… Them plenty na,” he revealed. He did not leave without making two amusing revelations: The first was the reason he broke up with his girlfriend. “I think I cheated or something like that, sha. Maybe, she is even the one I cheated with,” he said, pointing to a beautiful lady sitting quietly by the corner.” The second was naming Bahaman singer Rihanna as the only foreign celebrity on whom he has a crush!
