Police arrest fake NAFDAC staff

he Enugu State Police Command has arrested an alleged fake staff of the National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC.

The suspect, identified as one Prince Gabriel Obasi of Odume, Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State has allegedly been impersonating and extortion unsuspecting members of the public.

According to a victim at Awgu in Enugu State, “the suspect came to my shop at Orie Awgu Market where he presented himself as an official of NAFDAC and demanded for the license authorizing me to be selling local gin popularly known as Kai Kai as well as the sum of N10, 000″.

Suspecting foul play, the victim said he reported the matter to the police.

When the suspect was rounded up by the police, he revealed that he was not a NAFDAC official and pleaded for forgiveness.
