Finally, Our beloved PDP has broken down and may not rise again

Senate Minority Leader, Dr George Akume, has said that the recent break-up of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is only a signal of the greatest catastrophy that awaits it.

Akume, former governor of Benue State, said that the crises rocking the party was a repercussion for abandoning the principles upon which it was built, insisting that lamentations of Nigerians on the kind of bad leadership the party has produced will make it fall and never get up to be heard again.

Speaking with newsmen on Monday, at the North-Bank house of his late associate and opposition chieftain in the state,  Alhaji Gombe, where he had gone to console with  the family, said Nigerians should no longer waste time thinking of whether the PDP will produce next president of the country, but noted that the party would soon be buried, where no one will ever hear of its name again.

Akume, who said he was one of the pillars that nourished and nurtured PDP to stand, regretted that he had to leave when he discovered  that the party was being run by unpatriotic, insincere and excessively greedy people, who were not ready to change for better.

According to him, “ some of us, who were there at the beginning and knew how this party was formed saw a great disaster awaiting it. We left for good and aligned ourselves with a people who have the interest of the nation at heart. I tell you, PDP will fall and never stand again. Tribune News
