The 14-year-old had a successful trial at Craven Cottage and has signed a one-year deal, reports Spanish football daily Marca.

A year is the maximum length of contract available to Mourinho due to restrictions on the length of contracts players of his age can sign outside their home country.

Mourinho Jnr. spent the last few years playing for Real Madrid's Canillas team while his father managed the Spanish giants.

But the young goalkeeper will not play for his father's Chelsea set-up, instead choosing to move further west at Fulham.

His grandfather, Jose Manuel Mourinho, was also a goalkeeper and was capped by Portugal in 1972. He also enjoyed a successful career at Vitoria Setubal, winning two Portuguese cups.
