Daring African Queens: Nzinga of Angola

Nzinga was born to the royal family of the Ndongos, which happened to be the ruling family at the time, although her mum was a concubine in the kingdom. Her father, Ngola Kiluanji Kia Samba, began the war against the Portuguese, who wanted to conquer the kingdom.
