Best Mike Tyson Fights of All Time

How did this guy get so famous? Who was his greatest opponent? Which match stands out above the rest? Join us as we explore the career of boxing legend Mike Tyson. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mike Tyson grew up poor and uneducated. He spent much of his early childhood in juvenile detention centers for petty crimes. Growing up alone after being left by his mother at a young age, he turned to drugs and alcohol in order to cope with his rough childhood. At the age of 17, Tyson began fighting as a professional boxer. Below, we take a look at his greatest fights.Did you know that you can play real online pokies games or bet on the best boxer. Best Mike Tyson Fights of All Time 1. The Thrilla in Manila: February 25th, 1988 Tyson vs Winky Wright Wright is an extremely underrated fighter, but not many people remember that fact. At the time, he dominated the sport, picking up seven wins including five knockouts in a row. In addition, he knocked down Tyson twice en route to beating him. Unfortunately, all these factors were ignored when HBO decided to put The Thrill on their main event slot (it featured Ali vs Frazier II). In what would be a classic rivalry between two heavyweights, Tyson dominated from start to finish. A combination of inexperience and arrogance led to Wright’s downfall while playing online roulette. Although he managed to stop Tyson in round 10, the fight ended in a draw.  2. Born Again: November 6th, 1990 Tyson vs Michael Spinks Spinks had already established himself as one of the best boxers in the world before meeting the younger version of Iron Mike. However, Tyson destroyed him inside the distance. He beat Spinks every round until the 11th, where a cut above Spink’s right eye forced referee Joe Cortez to step in and halt the bout. It was later revealed that the cut was caused by a piece of metal hidden in Spink’s headgear. After the bout, Spinks retired due to the injury. Tyson won a unanimous decision and took home $7 million. 3. Holyfield–Tyson III: June 26th, 1992 This was always going to be one of the most anticipated matches in history. What it lacked in historical importance, it more than made up for in pure entertainment. Tyson may have been an underdog heading into the bout, but the fact remained that he was about ten times better looking than Michael Spinks. The American public expected Spinks to become the next world champion within a month or two. However, they were shocked to see “Hammerin’ Hank” win via knockout in the second round. Later in the year, Tyson challenged then-undefeated Evander Holyfield for his first heavyweight title. On Feb. 21st, 1994, he defeated Holyfield via TKO, making him the youngest man ever to hold a World Heavyweight Championship belt.
