Plateau Violence claims 21 lives afresh

AGAIN, Plateau State Thursday morning witnessed reign of terror as no fewer than 21 people were feared killed while others were injured in two separate clashes in Kukek and Kapis communities in Barkin Ladi council of the state.

In a related development, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Azubuike Ihejirika has justified the creation of the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army, saying it is established to take care of the North East, which is most volatile with porous borders.

Meanwhile, the new commander of the air raid in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe, Air Vice Marshal Adesola N. Amosu has said that the terrorists group lacked the capacity to ground the country considering the military and other security agents’ training for operations.

In same vein, Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State has attributed youths restiveness and the Boko Haram insurgency in the country to bad governance under the present democratic dispensation.

A source who spoke to journalists said the gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen attacked Kukek community in Bakin Kogi Foron district of Barkin Ladi Local Council Area of the state.

The source further said the gunmen razed the house of a man identified as Tsok Gwom between 1 and 2.00am last night killing nine members of the family. The attackers were said to be have rustled some cattle from the villagers.
