Solomon Lars body arrive Nigeria Thursday
« on: October 15, 2013, 10:10:47 AM »
There are strong indications that the body of the late Chief Solomon Daushep Lar will arrive the country on Thursday this week to be  accompanied by his wife, Professor Mary Lar and other family members in the United Kingdom.

Indication to his effect emerged when the Executive Secretary of Solomon Lar Foundation, Mr Ezekiel Adeyi Major, was welcoming the governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Yisa Yuguda, to the residence of the deceased on Monday.

In his speech,  Governor Yuguda described the late elder statesman as a father to many politicians in the north and Nigeria as a whole.

He said the deceased lived  a purposeful life and contributed immensely to the development of his community and Nigeria as a whole, adding that his desire for a just and egalitarian society is commendable.

Also, a former governor of Nasarawa State, who was  the deputy to Chief Lar when he was the governor of the larger Plateau State, Alhaji Aliu Akwe Doma, described the deceased as a teacher of politics, who groomed people for politics.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after signing the condolence register at the residence of the deceased in Jos,  Alhaji Doma said Lar was a man of justice who fought for the cause of the common man .

“I was very close to him as his deputy when he was the governor of  the larger Plateau State. He was a man that stood for justice, peace and fair play and created a platform for  young persons to succeed and and make progress politically. He groomed me for politics. He  was an emancipator, who championed the cause of the downtrodden,” he said.
