MTV awards: Live event shelved over writers’ strike as host pulls out

The MTV Movies and TV Awards have shelved plans for a live event, following a strike by the Writers Guild of America. The development was announced on Friday by Bruce Gillmer, Paramount’s President of music, music talent, programming and events, Billboard reports.
