Tears of the Tigris: a journey through Iraq – in pictures

The photographer Emily Garthwaite travelled through Iraq, walking the Zagros mountain trail and travelling down the Tigris River, which runs through Iraq, Turkey and Syria, documenting what she saw and weaving together the themes of shared humanity, displacement and coexistence with the natural world
