Mega City: Abuja gets N28 Billion Infrastructure Fund

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved 28 billion Naira for the provision of engineering infrastructure in the Wasa District of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

The meeting which was presided over by the Vice President, Namadi Sambo, in the absence of President Goodluck Jonathan, who is currently attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, ended at about 11:30am.

Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Olajumoke Akinjide and Information Minister, Labaran Maku, told journalists that the approval of the contract was in line with the Federal Government’s continued efforts to provide infrastructure and affordable housing in the FCT.

The contract, which includes the provision of sidewalks, culverts, sewage, electrical and street lightening, road work, drainage amongst other infrastructure, would gulp 28.1 billion,Naira with a completion period of 48 months. - ChanelsTV
