Plateau killings on the row again, Over 30 dead in 48 hours

About 20 people were again killed in Plateau State, yesterday, when gunmen invaded Mavou village in Wase Local Government Area.

The latest killing is coming barely 48 hours after over 30 people were killed in two villages of Riyom LGA.
Reports from Wase said the attackers who invaded the village at abut 2a.m. also torched abut 10 houses.

A resident who gave his name as Nangak said the attackers came in large number and shot sporadically as they raided the village.

The motive for the attack could not be immediately ascertained, but there had been skirmishes among communities in the local government for some time now.
It was learnt that additional security had been deployed to the area to restore normalcy.

Police spokesperson in the state, DSP Felicia Anslem confirmed the attack, but said she was yet to get the details.
