Christains [Religious people] need to be in Polictics - OBJ

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday, declared that politics was not meant for ungodly people, dismissing argument that Christians should not be in politics and urged Nigerians to fear God and be in politics to correct the ills in the society.

Obasanjo spoke at the special thanksgiving to mark the fifth anniversary of the Chapel of Christ the Glorious King, CCGC, a religious arm of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, OOPL, Abeokuta.

The former President who eulogised Rev. Dr. S.T Ola Akande for joining politics said: "One of the beliefs in some quarters is true Christians should not be in politics but it is a fallacy.

"If will allow this to be, we shall be having ungodly people and this should not be because if you refuse to participate in politics, bad people will dominate it. We must encourage Christians, those God have accepted, to be in politics, or else, what we will be witnessing will not be good. http://allafrica.com/stories/201402170617.html
