Bunza LGA in Kebbi State earmarks N45.6m for poverty reduction

Bunza Local Government Council in Kebbi has earmarked N45.6 million for poverty reduction and job creation, the council’s Chairman, Alhaji Aliyu Raha, has said.

Raha said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Bunza on Monday part of the money would be used to provide materials and equipment at the Skills Acquisition Centre in Bunza.

He said experts would be employed to train youths on various skills to enable them to become self reliant.

The chairman said 356 youths would be trained in various trades, including shoe making, carpentry, welding, computer and auto mechanic.

He said the council had mandated a committee of councillors, led by Alhaji Ibrahim Maidahini, to commence registration of qualified persons that would participate in the training. - More on Punch
