Pistorius trial to be televised ‘for open justice’
« on: February 26, 2014, 07:17:52 PM »
The trial of Oscar Pistorius is to be broadcast live in an attempt to address misconceptions about South Africa’s justice system.

In a decision that is expected to fuel an international media frenzy a judge ruled to allow the broadcast of what he called a celebrity trial, but said cameras would not be allowed to film close-ups or show the sprinter giving evidence.

South African judge rules that most of the murder trial can be broadcast live - but not the Paralympian’s own..
