The Imo State Police Command has initiated a comprehensive investigation into a viral video accusing H&C Hotel in Irete, Owerri West Local Government Area, of serving as a base for kidnapping and organ harvesting, Commissioner of Police Aboki Danjuma announced Friday. In a statement issued by command spokesperson DSP Henry Okoye, CP Danjuma ordered an immediate and thorough probe into the allegations, which surfaced early Friday morning. The video features footage of the hotel, a photo of its owner, Mr. Allwell Onyedikachi Mmaduabuchi, and claims that unsuspecting guests are abducted and subjected to organ harvesting. The unidentified narrator urged the public, especially holidaymakers, to avoid the facility and others allegedly involved in similar crimes.“The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, has ordered an in-depth investigation into a viral video in which a yet-to-be-identified young man accused the owner of H&C Hotel, Irete... of being involved in kidnapping and organ harvesting,” the statement read.Police have summoned Mr. Mmaduabuchi for questioning and are actively working to locate the video’s creator to provide substantiating evidence.“The hotel owner has been invited by the police for questioning, while efforts are ongoing to locate and invite the individual who made the allegations to substantiate his claims with credible evidence that will aid the ongoing investigation,” Okoye stated.Authorities assured transparency, promising to release findings upon conclusion. “The outcome will be made public upon conclusion of the inquiry,” the statement added.DSP Okoye urged residents to remain calm, emphasizing the command’s dedication to safety and justice. “The Command remains steadfast in upholding the rule of law, ensuring justice without fear or favour, and maintaining public confidence in its commitment to safety and transparency. The Command is on top of the situation,” he said.In a related development, 182 newly trained police constables were deployed to the Imo Command last week after graduating from the Police Training School in Nekede. Receiving them, CP Danjuma, representing Inspector-General of Police Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, charged the officers to prioritize ethical conduct, discipline, and community-oriented policing.
