Rev. Father Arrested For Stealing And Selling Babies In Imo

Rev Okono Joseph of St Peter's Parish of Owerri Catholic Diocese in Imo State, and 20 more people have been arrested over the selling of two children.
The suspects were said to have sold the two boys, aged 3 and 4, for N900,000.

It has been revealed that the "price" of children was in the range N450,000 - N750,000 depending on the gender, with male kids being more expensive.

The cleric confessed only to 2 crimes claiming the profit of N46,000.

Meanwhile one of the suspects, Duke, said the leader of the syndicate, Onyekedru could not remember the number of children he had sold.

Two more arrested people, Mercy and her boyfriend Collins, also confessed to being involved in baby selling. According to Mercy, she was paid N100,000 for each kidnap deal.
