Still Have Patience with Us: PDP urges Nigerians
« on: September 01, 2012, 05:35:56 PM »
The Peoples Democratic Party on Friday asked Nigerians to be patient with it. The party said this while taking stock of its 14 years of existence as a political party in the country.

It, however, agreed that it was yet to meet its target of transforming the nation. The party was registered as a political party on Aug. 31, 1998.

Addressing a news conference in Abuja, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, insisted that the party had recorded notable achievements within the period under review and promised better days ahead.

He said, “The PDP is not unmindful of such expectations. We all recall that exactly today in 1998, the heroic efforts of eminent Nigerians from all walks of life to form a credible, nationwide, issue and people-based political party were crowned with the official inauguration of our great party at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

“The vision of the founding fathers of our party, the critical elements of its manifesto which centred on re-building Nigeria into a pride in the comity of nations, its untrammeled credibility as a truly national political party that has been providing a platform for all Nigerians to realise their political aspirations irrespective of religious, ethnic or cultural affiliation differentiate it from its contemporaries.

“This unique character of our party has been the major reason for its preference by Nigerians who have continued to renew our mandate as seen in 1999, 2003, 2007 and in 2011.”

He said the PDP was unable to meet the expectations of Nigerians because “seven of its 13 years in office were characterised by global economic meltdown,” which “almost collapsed the economies of advanced countries.”

But he said that the Nigerian economy was not badly affected due to prudent management of the PDP administration.

Metuh said, “In Nigeria, we are happy that we have a President who listens; who reads the mood of the nation; who gauges the feelings of the people.

Really After 15 years, What kind of patience are we still to have? Its just so boring that we have not been able to push away this Corrupt guys...The only things we have benefited from PDP is a future of Corruption, A past of Bankrupting the nation and enriching themselves and lies upon lies from every leader from PDP at all fronts.

I just hope we can vote them out in the next elections and lets put the peoples people in the right place.
