Property worth millions of naira were yesterday destroyed as a rain storm wreaked havoc in different parts of Lagos State.

The rain which began at about 8am was said to have lasted less than an hour but left tears in its trail.

The rainstorm rendered thousands of people homeless as it blew off roofs of residential buildings, churches, mosques and schools.

At Ijaiye Street in Ajegunle area of the metropolis, LEADERSHIP observed that over 500 buildings were affected including Ajeromi Public Primary School while part of the roof of the three-storey building housing Christ The King Primary School, Orodu Street, Ajegunle was also affected.

Worshipers at the Redeemed Christian Church of God at Queens Street, Ajegunle said they escaped death by the whiskers as the roof almost collapsed on their heads, just as Gospel Baptist Church, along Oregie Road and Redeemers Kingdom Church, Kanjowon Street, all in Ajegunle were affected.
