2027: Jandor Mobilises Lagos for Tinubu, Hamzat

Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor and leader of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, has declared full support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.Jandor made the pledge on Thursday when he led about 300 members of his group to the campaign office of Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Director-General of Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat’s governorship campaign organisation, in Ikeja. The meeting focused on integrating Lagos4Lagos into APC’s grassroots mobilisation structure.Explaining his decision to withdraw from the APC governorship primary, Jandor said it was out of respect for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and party leaders. He noted that Lagos4Lagos had consistently supported APC, even during the last local government elections, despite not fielding candidates.“We are already working to have two people in each of the more than 13,000 polling units in Lagos State. We are ready to ensure victory for the party in the state,” he said, stressing that the presidential election would be the group’s top priority.Jandor insisted that Tinubu must win Lagos in 2027, describing the loss of the state in the 2023 presidential election as unacceptable. “It is not fair that President Bola Tinubu had been winning for everybody and he later lost in Lagos State, but it must not happen again,” he said.Obanikoro, in his remarks, assured that Hamzat’s campaign would adopt an inclusive approach, urging Lagos4Lagos members to integrate into their wards and local governments. He identified voter turnout as a major challenge in past elections and called for stronger mobilisation.Describing Hamzat as “the best candidate that anybody can offer in Nigeria,” Obanikoro maintained that his experience as Deputy Governor had prepared him for the governorship. He urged party members to work together to deliver both Tinubu and Hamzat in 2027.
