Ayo Fayose, gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the forthcoming June 21 governorship election in Ekiti State on Thursday led members of the PDP in Ekiti on a peaceful protest against the killings and bombing of innocent Nigerians in Jos, Plateau State and other parts of the country.

According to THIS DAY, the protesters which included former deputy governor, Biodun Olujimi, were all dressed in black vests and trekked through the city.

Speaking during the protest, Fayose said, "The reason for the protest is to identify with the victims of the Jos bomb blasts, which for reasons within good conscience and love for your fellow human beings, we have to suspend our campaign for today and we chose to identify with them by this walk and to appeal to whatever they call themselves in the name of politics, that they should stop letting the blood of innocent Nigerians.
