Topic: INEC to start the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) today  (Read 1861 times)

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it will commence the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) today.
 
As a result, the commission has called on every registered voter in the 10 states under first phase of the exercise to visit the polling units where they previously registered to ascertain their registration status.
 
According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to INEC, Kayode Idowu, the commission said the distribution of PVCs will last till May 25 in the following states:- Taraba, Gombe, Zamfara, Kebbi, Benue, Kogi, Abia, Enugu, Akwa-Ibom and Bayelsa.
 
The statement further said: "Persons whose data have been appropriately captured will be handed their PVCs at the polling units in accordance with set procedures.
 
"Those with defective data, for whom PVCs have not been produced, will have the opportunity to re-register during the Continuous Voters's Registration (CVR) that will hold from May 28 to June 1. - CodeWit
