BORNO State governor, Kashim Shettima of Borno state has said there is a plan by the state government to shoulder the responsibility of sponsoring all the Chibok abducted schoolgirls to schools in other parts of the country.

He said the government was thinking of Abuja, Kano, Lagos, Kaduna or other states of the country to relocate the girls, so that they could prepare for their final year examinations.

According to the governor, “it is mandatory for the state government to ensure the speedy return or  release of the girls and it is the sole responsibility of government to see that these girls are back in their homes without politicising the matter.

“This is not politics. There is no need to play politics with the abduction of these children. We have children and we know what it is for these girls to be missing. We are human beings and should have feelings.”

The governor also directed the chairman of Chibok Local Government Area of the state, Mr Baana Lawan, to compile a list and modalities of how the government would assist both the parents and students, while plans for their education outside the state was being pursued.
