Oyo workers’ salary now N4.6bn and we only get N4bn – Governor Ajimobi

Ajimobi spoke during the week at the 2014 Adegoke Adelabu Memorial Lecture in Ibadan, the state capital.

The Head of Aboderin family in Ibadan, Chief Olutunde Aboderin; Ibadan High Chiefs Omowale Kuye, Adebayo Akande and Eddy Oyewole attended the lecture. Others are the first child of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana, Prof. Femi Lana; President of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Chief Bayo Oyero; Special Adviser to the Governor on Sports, Chief Waidi Akanni; Prof. Akinwumi Isola, former Adviser to former President Sheu Shagari on Budget Affairs, Chief Theophilus Akinyele and other prominent indigenes of Ibadan.

Ajimobi said, “In the last three years, this administration has increased workers’ salary from N2bn that we met to N4.6bn every month. We receive N4bn from the Federal Government but if we have to do everything needed to be done in the state at a time, the money can never be enough because our people need lots of assistance from us.”

The governor, however, said Adelabu would be honoured by the state government with an edifice, promising the same for the late Aare Musulumi of Yoruba land, Abdul Azeez Arisekola-Alao, who died on June 18. - Punch
