THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun State has set August 4 as deadline for the distribution of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) to enable the Commission have enough time to concentrate on other preparations for the August 9 poll.

The state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mr. Olusegun Agbaje, stated this in Osogbo, Osun State capital, during an interactive session with Christian and Muslim leaders in the state.

The clerics were led by the Chairman of the state Muslim community, Sheikh Salahudeen Olayiwola and the State Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Joseph Olayide.

The interactive session was part of the Commission’s effort towards ensuring peaceful conduct of the poll and had three participants drawn from each of the 30 local councils and the area office in Modakeke-Ife.
