Do you know that Babies smell in the Womb?
« on: September 09, 2012, 11:47:02 AM »
The question then is do babies smell in the womb?
Answer: YES, they Do

Smell is the most advanced, out of the five senses, present in babies at the time of birth. Unlike eyesight, hearing or touch that requires some time, the sense of smell is developed, right at the time when infants are in the womb. Surprised!!

According to a few research and a post by Dr. Alan Greene, The sense of smell is the first of the five senses that babies in the womb develop. Molecules that a woman can taste or smell tend to pass through the placenta, where they can also be detected by the amazingly sensitive olfactory cells of the baby. According to many experts, babies develop their sense of smell early on in order to connect with their mother. They can tell when she is near by the smell of her clothes, her hair and even her breast milk, and can differentiate between her and other women. This is further evinced by the fact that babies can tell their parents are close even when they aren’t in the same room.

Hmm....
