Stop stigmatizing us; we no longer have Ebola in Nigeria – Jonathan declares

President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday frowned at the continuous stigmatization of Nigerians in any part of the world over the Ebola Virus Disease.

Jonathan said Nigerian was quick enough to contain the killer disease before it went out of hands.

Jonathan stated this while receiving the French Foreign Minister, Mr. Laurent Fabius and his German counterpart, Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday.

A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, quoted the President as saying that the world should stop the discriminatory checks and stigmatisation on Nigeriands abroad.

The statement reads in part, “The President maintained that there was never any justifiable basis for the stigmatisation of Nigerians since Ebola was rapidly contained in the country and never attained epidemic levels.
