KANO EXPLODES AGAIN: A bomb exploded in Kwari Market place, Kano

A bomb exploded in a marketplace in Nigeria's second city Kano on Wednesday afternoon, security sources told Reuters.

The chairman of the Kantin Kwari market, Alhaji Liti Kulkul, said there had been an explosion but did not have further details.

The explosion happened in the Kantin Kwari market, which is typically packed with crowds of traders, shoppers as well as traffic.

"I heard a huge sound coming from the back of my shop along Unity Road. I just closed the shop and tried to leave because it`s not safe," trader Nura Sadiq told AFP.

Kano's main mosque was targeted by suspected Boko Haram militants at the end of November. They set off three bombs and opened fire on midday worshippers.
