Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo says the upcoming elections in Nigeria are crucial and should be devoid of sentiments like religion, ethnicity and nepotism.

Mr. Obasanjo who was speaking to newsmen in Cape Town, South Africa said the country is being watched by the international community, adding that it will be subjected to ridicule and jest from global observers if the elections failed.

He said all eyes will be on INEC and the Police, and urged them to ensure free, fair and credible elections.
