Following the adjustment of the dates for the 2015 general election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from February 14 and 28 to March 28 and April 11 on Saturday, President Goodluck Jonathan has restated his commitment to the sanctity of May 29, 2015 as the terminal date of his first term.

According to him, May 29 is, has been, and will remain sacrosanct.

On his part, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), urged Nigerians to remain calm and do nothing to worsen the current security situation. Buhari however, alleged that though INEC acted within its constitutional powers, the shift was engineered by the PDP and the INEC “has been gravely compromised.”

The new dates must be sacrosanct, he warned.
