El Clasico: Barcelona (Messi) 2-2 (Ronaldo) Real Madrid

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo continued their remarkable goal scoring duel as the pair each scored twice in Barcelona's draw with Real Madrid.

Ronaldo squeezed a shot in at the near post on 23 minutes to set a new record for scoring in consecutive El Clasicos.

Karim Benzema hit the post two minutes later, but Messi got his first after Pepe misjudged a ricochet in the box.The Argentine scored his 10th of the season from a 25-yard free-kick but Ronaldo tucked in Mesut Ozil's pass.

Martin Montoya, on for Dani Alves, almost won it for the hosts late on when he struck a curling shot against the bar.

Messi v Ronaldo

Since Ronaldo joined Real Madrid from Manchester United in 2009 he has 160 goals in 155 games
In the same period Messi has 169 goals in 155 games

I say its a bottleneck because you have two great players and its always hard to decide who is best. we all know that Messi is a great player buh you can't take fantastic football away from Ronaldo.

What we think?

Ronaldo has done it with two great clubs - Man Utd and Real Madrid and he has delivered on all grounds.
Messi has maybe done it only in Barcelona but he has done it so exceptional that we believe he can do it anywhere or maybe not?

Or should we test them like Maradona, let them go to a division 2 team and bring them to the League 1 like Maradona did for Napoli in the days?

So for the debate of the footballer of the year...who do we give? we are still thinking but with Sepp Blatter calling Messi a Magicioan after the ElClasico last weekend, I have a feeling Messi will equal Brazil Ronaldo's record of 4 times

I agree messi should replicate this scintilating form with another club in another league.
I wish ronaldo wins the world player, messi deserves it too not jus as but as much as ronaldo, plus ronaldo is a league winner.
