Rivers State Commissioner For Power Kidnapped

Reports say the Rivers State Commissioner for Power Hon. Nwokocha Augustine has been kidnapped alongside his Personal Assistant.

Sources say the Commissioner was kidnapped in Ede, Onelga Local Government of Rivers State. The Commissioner was reportedly pulled out of his land cruiser Jeep and was taken away along with his aide Samson.

The Commissioner’s family is yet to be contacted, a source said, but the case has been reported to the police. Mr. Nwokocha’s jeep was abandoned on the spot.

Hon. Nwokocha has been the Rivers State Commissioner for Power since April 2008. He formerly represented ONELGA Constituency 1 in the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2003 to 2007 and was the Chairman of the House Committee on Public Petitions and Compliance in that period.
