Tragic Sallah, As Man Slaughters Two People, Stabs Four Others

IT was a gloomy Eid al-Adha celebration yesterday, as middle-aged man went wild, stabbing two people to death in Kaduna metropolis. Several others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

Residents, on seeing the strange incident, took to their heels, just as the yet-to-be-identified man descended on others and inflicted deep cuts on their necks and bodies.

Kaduna State Police Command, however, confirmed arrest of the man, saying it has commenced investigation of the matter.

Eyewitness said the unidentified man apparently went berserk “and started cutting people at sight in the neck in Kano/Hadeja streets in Abubakar Gumi Central Market area of Kaduna metropolis”.

The incident, which occurred at about 4pm, left two people dead. Four others were injured in their necks and were rushed to Saint Gerald Catholic Hospital within the metropolis for treatment.

When our correspondent visited the hospital at about 5.pm, the injured persons were receiving medical attention with their necks heavily bandaged.
