Why Hurricane sandy is actually Called "SANDY"

Are you wondering Hurricane Sandy called Sandy?

it's because all major tropical storms are named in order to keep track. Each year they start at the beginning of the alphabet and go on through til the end of the year. If they get past Z, they go on to the Greek alphabet

It better be because if you ask me.
