According to the organisers, "Film Africa celebrates the wealth, diversity and quality of African cinema and African stories, thereby helping to challenge negative stereotypes about the continent. It does this by giving a London-wide platform to African and diaspora filmmakers and also to filmmakers who tell alternative stories about the continent."
