The North-Eastern part of Nigeria has witnessed severe economic devastation over the past five years, due to the rise of insurgency in the region. Thousands of Nigerians, mostly women and children, have lost their lives, while properties worth billions of naira have been damaged by the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents.
