Me, malaria and misconceptions

I’ve spent my whole life in Nigeria, and growing up I saw malaria as a minor and common illness. I had several bouts of malaria as a child, but I never understood how dangerous the disease was. Only a few years ago, when I became a volunteer Youth Peer Educator with YEDI, a Nigerian non-profit
