ICPC Arrests Ogun Speaker Over Contract Scam

The Independent Corrupt Practises Commission (ICPC) over the weekend summoned the  Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Suraj Adekunbi  over alleged cars contract inflation.

The invitation was as a result of a petition  written against the speaker, which the commission is now working on.

Adekunbi was  invited to appear before the Commission today, Monday, in Abuja.

The Speaker according to further findings is to appear before commission Head of  Investigation, alongside the Clerk, Deputy Clerk and some principal officers of the Ogun State House of Assembly.

Our correspondent learnt that the controversial cars were 28Toyota Avensis bought for members House of Assembly as official vehicles at the rate of N6million each.

As at the time of this report, letters of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission( ICPC) invitation had been received by the speaker and other invitees.
