Day Ile-Ife stood still for late Sijuwade

For three days, the ancient city of Ile-Ife, the cradle of the yoruba race was agog for the first anniversary of the demise of the 50th   Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Olubuse 11, who died in a London hospital last year. The activities lined up for the remembrance of the revered monarch began on Tuesday at Ife City Hall, now named after the late Ooni with a press conference addressed by the chairman Local Organising Committee of the anniversary, Prof Muib Opeloye.
