Mohammed Movie to be remade with $1-billion to remould Image - Qatar Company

Qatar-based company Alnoor Holding on Tuesday announced it would increase the budget for a planned movie series on the life of the Islamic Prophet Mohamed to $1 billion, AFP reported.

According to AFP, citing Alnoor chairman Ahmed Al-Hashemi, the series will consist of "seven films - instead of three films as per an earlier announcement - with a total budget of $1 billion."

Alnoor's previous budget was $1.5 million.

Mohammed himself reportedly will not appear in the films, given the Islamic tenant forbidding the dissemination of images of the Prophet.

Alnoor said the film would be produced in English and translated into various languages "to correct the wrong image Western societies have of Islam.". Jpost
