Petroleum product discovery in Kuje and the Abuja council stunts

Residents of Kuje, one of the six Area Councils in Abuja, claim they discovered petroleum products in an underground water well.

A witness said the discovery was made in Angwangade area of the council, close to the council secretariat and the Emir’s palace.

It is not clear what the source of the petroleum product is, although security officials including the police, the civil defence, Special Anti-Robbery Squad, have already surrounded the area limiting movements around it.

The spokesperson of the Department of Petroleum Resources, whose officials are saddled with the analysis of the alleged petroleum product has promised to get back with details.

The spokesperson for the Abuja Minister of State also promised to call back as he was in an urgent meeting.
