The Dog-like-LION that sparked a 911 call in Norfolk, Virginia

An adorable Labradoodle who could be mistaken for a lion because of the unusual cut of his mini-mane caused a scare when a concerned citizen feared there was a jungle cat on the loose.

Someone called 911 on Tuesday morning because they thought they saw a baby lion walking down the streets of Norfolk, Virginia.

Police then checked with the Virginia Zoo to make sure that all of their lions were still in their cages, only to realize that the animal the caller saw was a pet dog.
The Virginian-Pilot reports that the animal in question is the regally-named Charles the Monarch, a Labrador-poodle mix owned by local businessman Daniel Painter.

Mr Painter is a loyal supporter of nearby Old Dominion University whose mascot is a lion. Read more:
