6-year-old Boy Dies After Being Crushed By School Bus

A six-year-old boy was crushed under the tyres of a school bus after he returned from school to his home in Al Ghafiyah area in Sharjah, United Arabs Emirate on Thursday, Gulf News reports. The driver of the bus was arrested.

An official at Sharjah police said that the Emirati boy was run over by his school bus after he was dropped by the same bus near his home in the Al Ghafyah area.

The incident took place around 2.30pm on Thursday, January 17. The boy sustained severe injuries and was transferred to Al Kuwaiti Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver had since been taken into police custody, while the police have launched an investigation into the incident.

The funeral prayer on the boy was held in Al Sahaba Mosque in Sharjah after Mugrab (sunset) prayer.
