Again its time to ask why this givernment keeps spending money recklessly or if they say its right then priorities are being lost all the time. This is coming in the wake of the recent reports of N4 Billion First Lady house, N7.5 billion Gate building, N14 billion VP House and all....seriously, why why why?

THE Yoruba Council of Youth (YCY), on Monday, in Abuja, chided the presidency over its budget proposal to the National Assembly asking it to approve N4 billion for the building of the First Ladies’ House in Abuja.

Describing the proposal as akin to that of the Biblical prodigal son, the president of the YCY, Chief Anthony Tai Olusoccer, in a press release, declared that the Office of the First Lady was not known to the constitution and pleaded with the National Assembly to reject the “inordinate” request.

The council also wondered why a whopping sum of N150 million should be proposed for the renovation of the Vice President’s Guest House in Asokoro, Abuja even when the controversy generated by the N14 billion budget for the building of the Vice President’s house is yet to subside.

Olusoccer, the Oluomo of Usi-Ekiti, equally queried the wisdom behind the decision of the Presidency to spend N7 billion on the building of the two city gates at the entrance of Abuja describing the projects as wasteful.

While saying that such requests amount to executive barbarism and lack of focus, Olusoccer said the Presidency’s moves has vindicated former President Olusegun Obasanjo who accused the President Goodluck Jonathan’s government of reckless spending.
