Which Summer Movie Can Defeat the Mighty Avengers?

After a historic $207.4 million opening weekend domestically, the Disney-distributed Avengers has banked $700 million-plus in its first 13 days of release worldwide and it remain Number#1 on the US Box Office.

Looking at the list of the remaining summer movies with any shot at surpassing the history-making blockbuste Avengers, ONly 3 names come up on the LIst

1. The Dark Knight Rises: As of now, only three films ever have hit the $500 million jackpot: Avatar, Titanic and The Dark Knight. Since James Cameron doesn't have a movie out this summer, that leaves this sequel, slated for a July 20 release, as The Avengers' most fearsome and legitimate competition.

2. The Amazing Spider-Man: Four of the Top 20 domestic hits of all-time are based on comics; of that group, two are Spider-Man movies. So, the Webslinger is not to be dismissed. Except maybe this time. "Reboots almost always take a step backward," Sulewski says, citing the examples of Batman Begins, Superman Returns and X-Men: First Class

3. Men in Black 3: Not many stars have starred in $500 million hits; Will Smith has (only after Independence Day's mid-1990s haul is adjusted for inflation, but still…). Combine that with the MiB series' own talent for money-making, and you've got a movie primed to take down The Avengers—in the short run, that is. MiB3, which opened Friday, is expected to break The Avengers' win streak at the weekend box office, but, no, in the end it's not expected to gross much more than its earlier films grossed a decade ago.

I think avengers will eat up all the summer movies and also i think it stands a chance to make history on sales and views.

Have you seen the Avengers? You should see it and tell us what you think...

Hello Mr ...

The Avengers is not the top movie at the box office after last weekend. That's right — someone else finally claimed the No. 1 spot. And OK, it was Men in Black III, which isn't very good, and The Avengers still broke $500 million domestically, but still. Did anyone else think The Avengers was going to continue its box office dominance forever?

Well, three weekends at No. 1 is still impressive, especially given that The Avengers is now one of only four films to break half a billion dollars domestically.

Though I dont think it will beat Avengers in the Long run but at least it has pegged "Mighty Avengers" down

Seen MIB3: My Rating: 7 so its a good watch.
